The Lure That Failed Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDEFEFGHGHIJIJ KDKLMGMGJAJL

I know a wonderful land I saidA
Where the skies are always blueB
Where on chocolate drops are the children fedA
And coconut cookies tooB
Where puppy dogs romp at the children's feetC
And the liveliest kittens playD
And little tin soldiers guard the streetC
To frighten the bears awayD
This land is reached by a wonderful shipE
That sails on a golden tideF
But never a grown up makes the tripE
It is only a children's rideF
And never a cross patch journeys thereG
And never a pouting faceH
For it is the Land of Smiling whereG
A frown is a big disgraceH
Oh you board the ship when the sun goes downI
And over a gentle seaJ
You slip away from the noisy townI
To the land of the chocolate treeJ
And there till the sun comes over the hillK
You frolic and romp and playD
And of candy and cake you eat your fillK
With no one to tell you 'Nay 'L
So come It is time for the ship to goM
To this wonderful land so fairG
And gently the summer breezes blowM
To carry you safely thereG
So come Set sail on this golden seaJ
To the land that is free from dreadA
'I know what you mean ' she said to meJ
'An' I don't wanna go to bed 'L
