The Kindly Neighbor Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDEDFF| I have a kindly neighbor one who stands | A |
| Beside my gate and chats with me awhile | B |
| Gives me the glory of his radiant smile | B |
| And comes at times to help with willing hands | A |
| No station high or rank this man commands | A |
| He too must trudge as I the long day's mile | B |
| And yet devoid of pomp or gaudy style | B |
| He has a worth exceeding stocks or lands | A |
| To him I go when sorrow's at my door | C |
| On him I lean when burdens come my way | D |
| Together oft we talk our trials o'er | E |
| And there is warmth in each good night we say | D |
| A kindly neighbor Wars and strife shall end | F |
| When man has made the man next door his friend | F |
