For those are the signs that the home is glad | C |
With a little girl or a little lad | C |

Where neatness isn't forever met | D |
Where a parlor floor isn't always straight | E |
With its rugs in place That's as grim as Fate | E |
I want a home that is strewn with toys | F |
Denoting the presence of girls and boys | F |

And dolls asleep in the company chairs | G |
Let me see in the corner when I come in | H |
A battle front of soldiers tin | H |
And a train of cars in a twisted heap | I |
And I'll know that the youngsters are sound asleep | I |

To the home of trumpet and horn and drum | J |
To the happy haunts where the children play | K |
