| For those are the signs that the home is glad | C |
| With a little girl or a little lad | C |
| - | |
| Give me the home that is all upset | D |
| Where neatness isn't forever met | D |

| With its rugs in place That's as grim as Fate | E |
| I want a home that is strewn with toys | F |
| Denoting the presence of girls and boys | F |
| - | |
| Let me gaze on buggies and Teddy Bears | G |
| And dolls asleep in the company chairs | G |
| Let me see in the corner when I come in | H |
| A battle front of soldiers tin | H |
| And a train of cars in a twisted heap | I |
| And I'll know that the youngsters are sound asleep | I |
| - | |
| And I'll be glad that you've let me come | J |
| To the home of trumpet and horn and drum | J |
| To the happy haunts where the children play | K |
