The Christmas Spirit Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

IT'S HO for the holly and laughter and kissesA
It 's ho for the mistletoe bough in the hallB
Was ever a season so jolly as this isC
No this is the jolliest one of them allB
The season of loving and giving and dancingD
The season of mirth and of hearts that are trueE
The season of eyes most bewitching entrancingD
It's ho Merry Christmas A welcome to youE
-
With loved ones about us to laugh at our folliesF
The patter of feet in the hallways aboveG
A ring at the door now deserted are dolliesF
All rush to greet callers and shower them with loveG
What turbulent romping Was ever such shoutingD
So dear to the heart and so sweet to the earH
Away with all fretting repining and doubtingD
Ye ho for the Christmas so brim full of cheerI
-
Away with you Trouble Our armor of gladnessF
You can't penetrate with your arrows of fearI
Away with you Sorrow Away with you SadnessF
Our walls are defended this morning by CheerI
A fig for your frowning Old Gloom and your grouchingD
No pessimist enters our castle todayJ
And should to our doorway a Kill Joy come slouchingD
We've sentries of Cheer who will drive him awayJ
