The Ballad Of The New Arrival Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

IT isn't the blue in the skiesA
Nor the song of the whispering treesB
The light in a fair maiden's eyesA
My joy is far greater than theseB
You will pardon my arrogance pleaseB
And forgive the wide bulge in my browC
My hand I'll permit you to seizeB
There's another to welcome me nowC
-
Naught to me are political criesA
Or Teddy's or Taft's policiesB
The charges of fraud or of liesA
Or Wilson's big stock of degreesB
Pinning blankets long dresses boot eesB
This morning are all I allowC
In my thoughts both at work and at easeB
There's another to welcome me nowC
-
'With a smile on my face I ariseB
And beg for permission to squeezeB
The wee little hand that I prizeB
And I wonder if daddy he seesB
The world with its mountains and seasB
Is a mighty big place but I vowC
The whole world is here at my kneesB
There's another to welcome me nowC
-
Prince at your pleasures I sneezeB
You to riches and glory may bowC
But my joy is greater than theseB
There's another to welcome me nowC
