Prophecy Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFEFGEGE HBHBIJIJKLKL

We shall thank our God for gracesA
That we've never known beforeB
We shall look on manlier facesC
When our troubled days are o'erD
We shall rise a better nationE
From the battle's grief and grimeF
And shall win our soul's salvationE
In this bitter trial timeF
And the old Flag waving o'er usG
In the dancing morning sunE
Will be daily singing for usG
Of a splendor new begunE
-
When the rifles cease to rattleH
And the cannon cease to roarB
When is passed the smoke of battleH
And the death lists are no moreB
With a yet undreamed of beautyI
As a people we shall riseJ
And a love of right and dutyI
Shall be gleaming in our eyesJ
As a country tried by sorrowK
With a heritage of worthL
We shall stand in that to morrowK
With the leaders of the earthL
