Patriotism Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABCCBDD EEBFFBGG HIJBBJKK LLMBBMNN

I think my country needs my voteA
I know it doesn't need my throatA
My lungs and larynx tooB
And so I sit at home at nightC
And teach my children what is rightC
And wise for them to doB
And when I'm on the job by dayD
I do my best to earn my payD
-
Though arguments may rage and roarE
I grease the hinges on my doorE
And paint the porches blueB
I love this splendid land of oursF
And so I plant the seeds and flowersF
And watch them bursting throughB
I never stand upon a boxG
To say we're headed for the rocksG
-
My notion of a patriotH
Is one who guards his little cotI
And keeps it up to dateJ
Who pays his taxes when they're dueB
And pays his bills for groc'ries tooB
And dresses well his mateJ
He keeps his children warmly cladK
And lets them know they have a dadK
-
The nation's safe as long as menL
Get to their work and back againL
Each day with cheerful smileM
So long as there are fathers whoB
Rejoice in what they have to doB
And find their homes worth whileM
The Stars and Stripes will wave on highN
And liberty will never dieN
