Out Of The Day Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBCDAD EBBEFEF DGGDHDH AIICHAH

OUT of the day you have taken whatA
Crown of laurels and wreath of bayB
Smiles or frowns Did you bring awayB
Shame that stings like an iron hotC
Or did you close with a record fairD
Out of the day you have taken whatA
Peace of mind or a night of careD
-
Sum it all up as you close the pageE
What have you written throughout the dayB
Joy or sorrow Be honest sayB
Evil wrought in an hour of rageE
Wrongs that loom through the dead of nightF
Sum it all up as you close the pageE
Fair or foul are the things you writeF
-
Over your record muse with careD
And note the wrong that is written downG
Why this temper and why this frownG
You were the one to put them thereD
You were the one to stoop to sinH
Over your record muse with careD
Yours is the fault if you failed to winH
-
Out of the day you have taken whatA
Joy or sorrow Then let me askI
What brought you to your daily taskI
A cheerful mind with your woes forgotC
Or an air of gloom with a downcast chinH
Out of the day you have taken whatA
Merely the fruits of what you put inH
