Move We Adjourn Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABBBCDCD EBEBFDFD GHGHBDBDWhen I'm weary of argument wordy | A |
And tired of continuous debate | B |
When the speaker like some hurdy gurdy | B |
Which carries on early and late | B |
Keeps up a monotonous bellow | C |
On lessons I don't want to learn | D |
'Tis then I give cheers for the fellow | C |
Who rises and moves to adjourn | D |
- | |
There are motions to lay on the table | E |
There are motions for this and for that | B |
And I stick just as long as I'm able | E |
And hark to the chatterer's chat | B |
I stand for the rising thanks motion | F |
For the one who has done a good turn | D |
But my friend is the chap with the notion | F |
To get up and move to adjourn | D |
- | |
There are some who like papers and speeches | G |
And open discussions of things | H |
The heights some new orator reaches | G |
The lesson and message he brings | H |
But each his own fancy must cling to | B |
What one chooses others may spurn | D |
So this simple tribute I sing to | B |
The brother who moves to adjourn | D |
