Marjorie Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEDFGHGHIJIJKLKL MNONThe house is as it was when she was here | A |
There's nothing changed at all about the place | B |
The books she loved to read are waiting near | C |
As if to morrow they would see her face | B |
Her room remains the way it used to be | D |
Here are the puzzles that she pondered on | E |
Yet since the angels called for Marjorie | D |
The joyous spirit of the home has gone | F |
All things grew lovely underneath her touch | G |
The room was bright because it knew her smile | H |
From her the tiniest trinket gathered much | G |
The cheapest toy became a thing worth while | H |
Yet here are her possessions as they were | I |
No longer joys to set the eyes aglow | J |
To day as we they seem to mourn for her | I |
And share the sadness that is ours to know | J |
Half sobbing now we put her games away | K |
Because dumb things they cannot understand | L |
Why never more shall Marjorie come to play | K |
And we have faith in God at our command | L |
These toys we smiled at once now start our tears | M |
They seem to wonder why they lie so still | N |
They call her name and will throughout the years | O |
God strengthen us to bow unto Thy will | N |
