'Can't do that ' he often said | E |
'Times are hard and none will stay | F |
Listen to the words I say | F |
It is futile now to try | D |
People simply will not buy ' | G |
Thus he walked the streets of trade | H |
Both discouraged and afraid | H |

Thought this way 'Perhaps I can | I |
If I will supply the pluck | J |
Fortune may provide the luck | J |
If I have the grit to try | D |
There are people who may buy | D |
Anyhow I'll not submit | K |

Beaten by his doubting heart | L |
