Little Feet Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDDEEAAFFGGHHII DDJJKLMMNNOODDPPQQAA

There is no music quite so sweetA
As patter of a baby's feetA
Who never hears along the hallB
The sound of tiny feet that fallB
Upon the floor so soft and lowC
As eagerly they come or goC
Has missed no matter who he beD
Life's most inspiring symphonyD
There is a music of the spheresE
Too fine to ring in mortal earsE
Yet not more delicate and sweetA
Than pattering of baby feetA
Where'er I hear that pit a patF
Which falls upon the velvet matF
Out of my dreamy nap I startG
And hear the echo in my heartG
'Tis difficult to put in wordsH
The music of the summer birdsH
Yet far more difficult a thingI
A lyric for that patteringI
Here is a music telling meD
Of golden joys that are to beD
Unheralded by horns and drumsJ
To me a regal caller comesJ
Now on my couch I lie and hearK
A little toddler coming nearL
Coming right boldly to my placeM
To pull my hair and pat my faceM
Undaunted by my age or sizeN
Nor caring that I am not wiseN
A visitor devoid of shamO
Who loves me just for what I amO
This soft low music tells to meD
In just a minute I shall beD
Made captive by a thousand charmsP
Held fast by chubby little armsP
For there is one upon the wayQ
Who thinks the world was made for playQ
Oh where's the sound that's half so sweetA
As pattering of baby feetA
