Little Feet Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDDEEAAFFGGHHII DDJJKLMMNNOODDPPQQAAThere is no music quite so sweet | A |
As patter of a baby's feet | A |
Who never hears along the hall | B |
The sound of tiny feet that fall | B |
Upon the floor so soft and low | C |
As eagerly they come or go | C |
Has missed no matter who he be | D |
Life's most inspiring symphony | D |
There is a music of the spheres | E |
Too fine to ring in mortal ears | E |
Yet not more delicate and sweet | A |
Than pattering of baby feet | A |
Where'er I hear that pit a pat | F |
Which falls upon the velvet mat | F |
Out of my dreamy nap I start | G |
And hear the echo in my heart | G |
'Tis difficult to put in words | H |
The music of the summer birds | H |
Yet far more difficult a thing | I |
A lyric for that pattering | I |
Here is a music telling me | D |
Of golden joys that are to be | D |
Unheralded by horns and drums | J |
To me a regal caller comes | J |
Now on my couch I lie and hear | K |
A little toddler coming near | L |
Coming right boldly to my place | M |
To pull my hair and pat my face | M |
Undaunted by my age or size | N |
Nor caring that I am not wise | N |
A visitor devoid of sham | O |
Who loves me just for what I am | O |
This soft low music tells to me | D |
In just a minute I shall be | D |
Made captive by a thousand charms | P |
Held fast by chubby little arms | P |
For there is one upon the way | Q |
Who thinks the world was made for play | Q |
Oh where's the sound that's half so sweet | A |
As pattering of baby feet | A |
