Kindness Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCC DDEEF EEGGHH

One never knowsA
How far a word of kindness goesA
One never seesB
How far a smile of friendship fleesB
Down through the yearsC
The deed forgotten reappearsC
-
One kindly wordD
The souls of many here has stirredD
Man goes his wayE
And tells with every passing dayE
Until life's endF
'Once unto me he played the friend '-
-
We cannot sayE
What lips are praising us to dayE
We cannot tellG
Whose prayers ask God to guard us wellG
But kindness livesH
Beyond the memory of him who givesH
