Just Half Of That, Please Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCCCBDBDBEEEBFBGB HHHB

Grandmother says when I pass her the cakeA
'Just half of that please 'B
If I serve her the tenderest portion of steakA
'Just half of that please 'B
And be the dessert a rice pudding or pieC
As I pass Grandma's share she is sure to replyC
With the trace of a twinkle to light up her eyeC
'Just half of that please 'B
I've cut down her portions but still she tells meD
'Just half of that please 'B
Though scarcely a mouthful of food she can seeD
'Just half of that please 'B
If I pass her the chocolates she breaks one in twoE
There's nothing so small but a smaller will doE
And she says perhaps fearing she's taking from youE
'Just half of that please 'B
When at last Grandma leaves us the angels will hearF
'Just half of that please 'B
When with joys for the gentle and brave they appearG
'Just half of that please 'B
And for fear they may think she is selfish up thereH
Or is taking what may be a young angel's shareH
She will say with the loveliest smile she can wearH
'Just half of that please 'B
