It Couldn't Be Done Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDED F FDCDED AGAHCDED

Somebody said that it couldn't be doneA
But he with a chuckle repliedB
That 'maybe it couldn't ' but he would be oneA
Who wouldn't say so till he'd triedB
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grinC
On his face If he worried he hid itD
He started to sing as he tackled the thingE
That couldn't be done and he did itD
-
Somebody scoffed 'Oh you'll never do thatF
At least no one ever has done it '-
But he took off his coat and he took off his hatF
And the first thing we knew he'd begun itD
With a lift of his chin and a bit of a grinC
Without any doubting or quidditD
He started to sing as he tackled the thingE
That couldn't be done and he did itD
-
There are thousands to tell you it cannot be doneA
There are thousands to prophesy failureG
There are thousands to point out to you one by oneA
The dangers that wait to assail youH
But just buckle in with a bit of a grinC
Just take off your coat and go to itD
Just start in to sing as you tackle the thingE
That 'cannot be done ' and you'll do itD
