That once the pressure of his hand | E |
In times of laughter knew | F |

For us to look upon | H |
The room is as it was except | G |
The boy himself has gone | I |

Still smiling as of yore | K |
And everything that he held dear | L |
Is treasured as before | K |
Into his room his mother goes | M |
As usual day by day | B |
And cares for it although she knows | M |
Our boy is far away | B |

We keep it as he left it when | N |
He bade us all good bye | O |
Though I confess that now and then | N |
We view it with a sigh | O |
For never night shall thrill with joy | P |
Nor day be free from gloom | Q |
Until once more our soldier boy | P |
