Faith Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCAA DEEFF GHHGG IJJII KLLK

This much I knowA
God does not wrong us hereB
Though oft His judgments seem severeC
And reason falters 'neath the blowA
Some day we'll learn 'twas better soA
-
So oft I've erredD
In trifling matters of my own concernE
So oft I've blundered at the simplest turnE
Chosen the false path or the foolish wordF
That what I call my judgment seems absurdF
-
My puny reason criesG
Against the bitter and the cruel blowsH
Measuring the large world by the inch it knowsH
Seeing all joy and pain through selfish eyesG
Not knowing hurt and suffering may be wiseG
-
But I have come to seeI
So vast God's love so infinite His planJ
That it is well it was not left to manJ
To alter or to say what is to beI
When reason failed faith also then would fleeI
-
God knoweth bestK
Through the black night and agony of griefL
Faith whispers low 'Hold fast to your beliefL
In time His purpose He shall manifestK
Then shall you learn how greatly you were blest '-
