Example Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABA BCDCDEE

Perhaps the victory shall not come to meA
Perhaps I shall not reach the goal I seekB
It may be at the last I shall be weakB
And falter as the promised land I seeA
Yet I must try for it and strive to beA
All that a conqueror is On to the peakB
Must be my call this way lies victoryA
-
Boy take my hand and hear me when I speakB
There is the goal In honor make the fightC
I may not reach it but my boy you canD
Cling to your faith and work with all your mightC
Some day the world shall hail you as a manD
And when at last shall come your happy dayE
Enough for me that I have shown the wayE
