Comradeship Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBAACCDD EEFFGHIIJJ KKLLMMNNEE AAOOJ OOP

OF ALL the ships that sail life's seaA
The Comradeship's the one for meA
In weather fair or weather foulB
A pleasant breeze or gales that howlB
An ocean smooth or troubled seaA
The Comradeship rides merrilyA
Her masts are staunch her sails are whiteC
Her compass true and day or nightC
She keeps her course and in the endD
Comes back to port with every friendD
-
The Comradeship is manned by menE
Who teach the sad to smile againE
True hearted souls who've quaffed the glassF
Of bitterness and seen it passF
Who know the meaning of distressG
The heartache and the wearinessH
That those who journey here belowI
Sooner or later come to knowI
And on the deck they stand and smileJ
And bid us fare with them a whileJ
-
They bid us make a pleasant tripK
Upon the gallant ComradeshipK
With them they bid us pace her deckL
A friendly arm about each neckL
And back to hearts with aching soreM
They bring the balm of peace once moreM
And from the troubled sea of strifeN
They bring us to the joy of lifeN
Restoring hope and faith againE
To weary and despairing menE
-
Of all the ships that sail life's seaA
The Comradeship's the one for meA
Her cabin rings with laughter trueO
Above her skies seem ever blueO
And by the sunlight of a smileJ
She steers for ' Happy Afterwhile '-
The port of Consolation tooO
She touches ere her journey's throughO
And this the song her master singsP
'Our destination's Better Things '-
