What dangers hedged us all about | E |
What little pleasures we should gain | F |
What should be ours to bear of pain | F |
But now the fires are burning low | G |
And this day's history we know | G |

No harm has come The laughter here | H |
Has been unbroken by a tear | I |
We've met no hurt too great to bear | I |
We have not had to bow to care | I |
The children all are safe in bed | J |
There's nothing now for us to dread | J |

When bedtime comes and we can say | K |
That we have safely lived the day | K |
How sweet the calm that settles down | L |
And shuts away the noisy town | L |
There is no danger now to fear | M |
Until to morrow shall appear | M |
