SHE wanted to be asked againA
And so she wiped the dishesB
She took a knife and with the menA
She helped to clean the fishesB
She made her bed and swept the floorC
She ran for water gaylyD
She tackled every menial choreC
And pared potatoes dailyD

She wanted to be asked againA
She ran to do the shoppingE
She toiled from early morn till tenA
And never thought of stoppingE
She got the meals and met the boatF
She really was a hummerG
By diligence I 'd have you noteF
She earned a pleasant summerG
