Tentacles Of Love Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CDEE DFGG HHFF IIII

I'm struck by Cupid's arrowA
The pangs across my heart make me sorrowA
I'm caught in the tentacles of loveB
The grasp at first gentle as a doveB
-
Now is hard for me to harborC
I abhor yeah I abhorD
My days of hellE
In this love cellE
-
Always looking through the clerestoryD
As a day dawns brisklyF
And a light shines brightG
To herald my freedom and rightG
-
When that day dawnsH
I'll awake as my heart yawnsH
And leaps with ecstasyF
To welcome my libertyF
-
But if again I go love searchingI
I'd be careful to do some searchingI
For my heart is a precious thingI
Which mustn't be traded for a farthingI
