Lost Love Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABC DEFFGHIJKLMNOP QRGSTRU SNHHSVWX

One breezy evening many years backA
In the welcoming arms of chirping birdsB
I met you pretty damselC
-
Your faceD
beautiful as that of a young Greek goddessE
Your eyesF
sparkling like stars in the night skiesF
Your lipsG
like those of Persuasion inviting a kissH
Your teethI
white as a flock of sheep that are even shornJ
Your voiceK
sweet as the melody of a heavenly hostL
Your neckM
like the tower of David built for an armoryN
Your whole figureO
curvy like an hourglassP
-
Many damsels I've metQ
But with you none can compareR
With tender words from tender lipsG
I poured out my heart to youS
In a voice so mellow you saidT
You're betrothed I should look elsewhereR
Words which pierced my heart like a hot knifeU
-
I lost youS
Yet it's hard for me to buryN
Your tender embrace and parting kissH
Which I unremittingly missH
To have been told I love you by youS
Could have been for me a great featV
Hark my lost loveW
Your place in my heart is yet unfilledX
