The Voice And The Dusk Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAC DEDF GHGH IJIJ CKC LMLH NONO PQPQ

THE slender moon and one pale starA
A rose leaf and a silver beeB
From some god's garden blown afarA
Go down the gold deep tranquillyC
-
Within the south there rolls and growsD
A mighty town with tower and spireE
From a cloud bastion masked with roseD
The lightning flashes diamond fireF
-
The purple martin darts aboutG
The purlieus of the iris fenH
The king bird rushes up and outG
He screams and whirls and screams againH
-
A thrush is hidden in a mazeI
Of cedar buds and tamarac bloomJ
He throws his rapid flexile phraseI
A flash of emeralds in the gloomJ
-
A voice is singing from the hillC
A happy love of long agoK
Ah tender voice be still be stillC
''Tis sometimes better not to know '-
-
The rapture from the amber heightL
Floats tremblingly along the plainM
Where in the reeds with fairy lightL
The lingering fireflies gleam againH
-
Buried in dingles more remoteN
Or drifted from some ferny riseO
The swooning of the golden throatN
Drops in the mellow dusk and diesO
-
A soft wind passes lightly drawnP
A wave leaps silverly and stirsQ
The rustling sedge and then is goneP
Down the black cavern in the firsQ
