Madonna With Two Angels Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDDEFGGHHIJKKLL MN

Under the sky without a stainA
The long ripe rippling of the grainA
Light broadcast from the golden oatsB
Over the blackberry fences floatsB
Madonna sits in a cedar chairC
Tranquillized by the warm still airC
One of the angels asleep on her kneeD
Under the shade of an apple treeD
The other angel holds a dollE
Covered warm in a tiny shawlF
The toy is supposed to be fast asleepG
As the sister angel in dimples deepG
The grave sweet charm on the baby faceH
Repeats the look of maturer graceH
That hovers about Madonna's eyesI
One of the heavenly mysteriesJ
From far ethereal latitudesK
Where neither doubt nor trouble intrudesK
Ponder here in the orchard nestL
On the truth of life made manifestL
The struggle and effort was all to proveM
That the best of the world is home and loveN
