Feuilles D'automne Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEBE FGHG BIBI JBKB

Gather the leaves from the forestA
And blow them over the worldB
The wind of winter followsC
The wind of autumn furledB
-
Only the beech tree cherishesD
A leaf or two for ruthE
Their stems too tough for the tempestB
Like thoughts of love and of youthE
-
You may sit by the fire and ponderF
While darkness veils the paneG
And fear that your memories are rushing awayH
In the wind and the rainG
-
But you'll find them in the quietB
When the clouds race with the moonI
Making the tender silver soundB
Of a beech in the month of JuneI
-
For you cannot rob the memoryJ
Of the leaves it loves the bestB
The wind of time may harry themK
It rushes away with the restB
