At Sea Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE GBHB IJKJ KLML

Three are emerald pools in the seaA
And wing like flashes of lightB
The sea is bound with the heavensC
In a large delightB
-
Night comes out of the eastD
And rushes down on the sunE
The emerald pools and the light poolsF
Are darkened and doneE
-
Our boat dips and cleaves onwardG
Careless of night or of lightB
Following the line of her compassH
By her engines' mightB
-
Through the desert of air and of waterI
Like the lonely soul of manJ
Following her fate to the endingK
Unaware of the hidden planJ
-
Sure only of battle and longingK
Of the pain and the questL
And beyond in the darkness somewhereM
Sure of her restL
