With A Rose Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBA CDDC EFFE DBBG

In the heart of a roseA
Lies the heart of a maidB
If you be not afraidB
You will wear it Who knowsA
-
In the pink of its bloomC
Lay your lips to her cheekD
Since a rose cannot speakD
And you gain the perfumeC
-
If the dews on the leafE
Are the tears from her eyesF
If she withers and diesF
Why you have the beliefE
-
That a rose cannot speakD
Though the heart of a maidB
In its bosom must fadeB
And with fading must breakG
