Wishes Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEBE EFGF

I wish we could live as the flowers liveA
To breathe and to bloom in the summer and sunB
To slumber and sway in the heart of the nightC
And to die when our glory had doneB
-
I wish we could love as the bees loveD
To rest or to roam without sorrow or sighE
With laughter when after the wooer had wonB
Love flew with a whispered good byeE
-
I wish we could die as the birds dieE
To fly and to fall when our beauty was bestF
No trammels of time on the years of our faceG
And to leave but an empty nestF
