Cean Duv Deelish Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABCCB AABBBB DDEBBE AABFFB DDBAAB

Cean duv deelish beside the seaA
I stand and stretch my hands to theeA
Across the worldB
The riderless horses race to shoreC
With thundering hoofs and shuddering hoarC
Blown manes uncurledB
-
Cean duv deelish I cry to theeA
Beyond the world beneath the seaA
Thou being deadB
Where hast thou hidden from the beatB
Of crushing hoofs and tearing feetB
Thy dear black headB
-
Cean duv deelish 'tis hard to prayD
With breaking heart from day to dayD
And no replyE
When the passionate challenge of sky is castB
In the teeth of the sea and an angry blastB
Goes byE
-
God bless the woman whoever she beA
From the tossing waves will recover theeA
And lashing windB
Who will take thee out of the wind and stormF
Dry thy wet face on her bosom warmF
And lips so kindB
-
I not to know It is hard to prayD
But I shall for this woman from day to dayD
Comfort my deadB
The sport of the winds and the play of the seaA
I loved thee too well for this thing to beA
O dear black headB
