The Night Before The Mowing Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEDE FGHGDEIEJDKDLEIE

ALL shimmering in the morning shineA
And diamonded with dewB
And quivering in the scented windC
That thrills its green heart throughB
The little field the smiling fieldD
With all its flowers a blowingE
How happy looks the golden fieldD
The day before the mowingE
-
All still 'neath the departing lightF
Twilight though void of starsG
Save where low westering Venus hidesH
From the red eye of MarsG
How quiet lies the silent fieldD
With all its beauties glowingE
Just stirring like a child asleepI
The night before the mowingE
Sharp steel inevitable handJ
Cut keen cut kind Our fieldD
We know full well must be laid lowK
Before its wealth it yieldD
Labor and mirth and plenty blestL
Its blameless death bestowingE
And yet we weep and yet we weepI
The night before the mowingE
