October Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDBEFGF HIJIEIEFKF LMNOPOEFQF

IT is no joy to me to sitA
On dreamy summer evesB
When silently the timid moonC
Kisses the sleeping leavesB
And all things through the fair hushed earthD
Love rest but nothing grievesB
Better I like old AutumnE
With his hair tossed to and froF
Firm striding o'er the stubble fieldsG
When the equinoctials blowF
-
When shrinkingly the sun creeps upH
Through misty mornings coldI
And Robin on the orchard hedgeJ
Sings cheerily and boldI
While the frosted plumE
Drops downward on the mouldI
And as he passes AutumnE
Into earth's lap does throwF
Brown apples gay in a game of playK
As the equinoctials blowF
-
When the spent year its carol sinksL
Into a humble psalmM
Asks no more for the pleasure draughtN
But for the cup of balmO
And all its storms and sunshine burstsP
Controls to one brave calmO
Then step by step walks AutumnE
With steady eyes that showF
Nor grief nor fear to the death of the yearQ
While the equinoctials blowF
