North Wind Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF AGHG IBIB ABAB

LOUD wind strong wind sweeping o'er the mountainsA
Fresh wind free wind blowing from the seaB
Pour forth thy vials like streams from airy fountainsA
Draughts of life to meB
-
Clear wind cold wind like a Northern giantC
Stars brightly threading thy cloud driven hairD
Thrilling the blank night with thy voice defiantC
Lo I meet thee thereD
-
Wild wind bold wind like a strong armed angelE
Clasp me and kiss me with thy kisses divineF
Breathe in this dulled ear thy secret sweet evangelE
Mine and only mineF
-
Fierce wind mad wind howling o'er the nationsA
Knew'st thou how leapeth my heart as thou goest byG
Ah thou wouldst pause awhile in a sudden patienceH
Like a human sighG
-
Sharp wind keen wind cutting as word arrowsI
Empty thy quiverful pass by What is't to theeB
That in some mortal eyes life's whole bright circle narrowsI
To one miseryB
-
Loud wind strong wind stay thou in the mountainsA
Fresh wind free wind trouble not the seaB
Or lay thy deathly hand upon my heart's warm fountainsA
That I hear not theeB
