In Memoriam Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BAACCDDAAB BEFAAAAAABBAAGGHHAAB

ObiitA
-
HEAVEN rest theeB
We shall go about todayA
In our festal garlands gayA
Whatsoever robes we wearC
Not a trace of black be thereC
Well what matters none is seenD
On thy daisy covering greenD
Or thy pure white pillow hidA
Underneath a cofin lidA
Heaven rest theeB
-
Heaven take theeB
Ay heaven only Sleeps beneathE
One who died a virgin deathF
Died so slowly day by dayA
That it scarcely seemed decayA
Till this lonely churchyard kindA
Opened and we left behindA
Nothing but a little dustA
Heaven is pitiful and justA
Heaven take theeB
Heaven keep theeB
Nevermore above the groundA
Be one relic of thee foundA
Lay the turf so smooth we craveG
None would guess it was a graveG
Save for grass that greener growsH
Or for wind that gentlier blowsH
All the earth o'er from this spotA
Where thou wert and thou art notA
Heaven keep theeB
