Santa Fe In Winter Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABC DEF GHI JAK LBM NOP QRS

The city is closing for the nightA
Stores draw their blinds one by oneB
and it's dark again save for the dimC
-
infrequent streetlight bending at the neckD
like a weighted stem Years have builtE
the city in layers balustrades filled inF
-
with brick adobe reinforced with steelG
and the rounded arches smoothedH
with white cement NeighborhoodsI
-
have changed the burro trailsJ
to streets bare at nightA
no pedestrians no cars no dogsK
-
With daylight the houses turned galleriesL
and stores turned restaurants openB
the Navajos wrapped in woolM
-
crowd the Palace of the Governors plazaN
to sell their handmade blanketsO
silver rings and necklacesP
-
to travelers who will buy jewelryQ
as they buy everythingR
another charming history for themselvesS
