Her ain experience teached herB

To this cauld warld in fifty yearB
She'd fosh near auchteen hunnerB
Losh keep's When a' thing's said an' duneF
The cratur' was a won'erB

A' gate she'd traivelled day an' nichtG
A' kin' o' orra weatherB
Had seen her trampin' on the roadG
Or trailin' through the heatherB

But Time had set her pechin' sairB
As on his way he birledG
The body startit failin' fastG
An' gettin' auld an' nirledG

An' syne to weet the bairnie's heidG
Owre muckle whiles they'd gie herB
But noo she's deid ay mony a yearB
