O hae ye heard the latest newsA
O' Mistress MucklewameB
Her doctor hadna pickit upC
Her trouble here at hameB
Sae they took her tae a speeshalistD
To fin' oot what was wrangE
An' it seems noo a' the botherF
Has been ang bang pangE
-
Faith in the marriage market thenG
Her man's had little luckE
She's just a muckle creishy lumpH
That waddles like a juckE
But the nerves gaun through her body'sI
Been the trouble a' alangE
An' its complicated noo ye seeJ
By ang bang pangE
-
I've aye held oot oor doctorF
Was a skeely man aforeF
But I'll never lat the cratur nooG
A stap inside the doorF
A' up an' doon the parishK
It has made a bonny sangE
That he didna ken his neebor's wifeL
Had ang bang pangE
-
They've pit her in hot water bathsM
To lat the body steepN
They're feedin' her on tabletsO
Frae the puddens o' a sheepN
They're talkin' o' a foreign spawP
Upon the continangE
They think they'll maybe cure her thereF
O' ang bang pangE
-
There's mony ways o' deein' thatD
Oor faithers didna kenG
For ae way foond in Buchan nooG
The doctors gie us tenG
But I hope to a' the Pooers abuneG
Auld Death may be owre thrangE
To come an' smoor my vital sparkE
Wi' ang bang pangE
