Self-employed: For Harvey Shapiro Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIJKLMN

I stand and listen head bowedA
to my inner complaintB
Persons passing by thinkC
I am searching for a lost coinD
You re fired I yell insideE
after an especially bad episodeF
I m letting you go without noticeG
or terminal pay You just lostH
another chance to make goodI
But then I watch myself standing at the exitJ
depressed and about to leaveK
and wave myself back in wearilyL
for who else could I get in my placeM
to do the job in dark airless conditionsN
