Information Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIJJKL

This tree has two million and seventy five thousand leavesA
Perhaps I missed a leaf or two but I do feel triumphantB
at having persisted in counting by hand branch by branchC
and marked down on paper with pencil each totalD
Adding them up was a pleasure I could understandE
I did something on my own that was not dependent on othersF
and to count leaves is not less meaningful than to count the starsG
as astronomers are always doingH
They want the facts to be sure they have them allI
It would help them to know whether the world is finiteJ
I discovered one tree that is finiteJ
I must try counting the hairs on my head and you tooK
We could swap informationL
