frightened and on guard | K |

It's people I'm afraid of afraid | L |
of my own kind knowing their angers | M |
and schemes and violent needs knowing | B |
through knowledge of myself | N |
that I have learned to resist | O |
but when I can't I have seen | P |
the havoc I have made | L |

It's this knowing their desperate motives | Q |
as I have known mine I'm afraid of | R |
in them I hide upon a bed | S |
behind a brick wall and listen | I |
to engines roaring up and down | T |
the street and to voices shouting | B |
to one another and find no meaning | B |
or order in them as there is none | I |
in me when I am free of self restraint | U |
