Snow In Europe Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDE FGAHF IJKLL

Out of their slumber Europeans spunA
Dense dreams appeasements miracle glimpsed flashB
Of a new golden era but could not restrainC
The vertical white weight that fell last nightD
And made their continent a blankE
-
Hush says the sameness of the snowF
The Ural and Jura now rejoinG
The furthest Arctic's desolation All is oneA
Sheer monotone plain mountain country townH
Contours and boundaries no longer showF
-
The warring flags hang colourless a whileI
Now midnight's icy zero feigns a truceJ
Between the signs and seasons and fades outK
All shots and cries But when the great thaw comesL
How red shall be the melting snow how loud the drumsL
