Perpetual Winter Never Known Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFAGH IJKLMNHOP

When the light falls on winter eveningsA
And the river makes no sound in its passingB
Behind the house is silent but for its coldC
Flowing its reeds frozen stiffer than glassD
How can one anticipate the dawn a suddenE
Blazing of sunlight thawing the harshest skyF
How can one not remember summer eveningsA
Must not the tired heart sink and must not fearG
Bite like an acid wrinkles in its stoneH

-
Behind drawn curtains gazing at the fireI
Think how the earth spins dumb and boundJ
By iron chains of frost through death still airK
And how in every street the sealed windowsL
And orange cubes of firelight how in housesM
Cuckoo clocks imitate the spring candles areN
Suns Perpetual winter never knownH
Families warm their hands and wait norO
Ever doubt the season's transienceP
