The New Wall And The New Colossus. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGH DIJKLDMNOPA

LAZARUS In silence you lieA
Beneath the dust of ancient scrollsB
Whilst your art The mother of exilesC
Dines in the womb of time demarcatedD
Soon the Island of liberty will consume itselfE
And darkness shall mate with timeF
To blot out the light of the lampG
Meant to lead us through the golden doorH
-
I the son of a slave who tasted libertyD
From the bone of your poemI
I have escaped the sweat at homeJ
To kiss the feet of the mighty woman with the torchK
I have wandered the sprawled body of the SaharaL
Crossed sand dunes of the lynchedD
Saw the Mediterranean throw up waxed bones of my forebearsM
Till I came to Babylon navigatingN
Through the ocean of my sweat yet here I amO
Standing on the heels of broken dreamsP
With just a wall in between your Colossus and IA
