Thanks For Remembering Us Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBCDCEC FGHIFJKILM

The flowers sent here by mistakeA
signed with a name that no one knewB
are turning bad What shall we doB
Our neighbor says they're not for herC
and no one has a birthday nearD
We should thank someone for the blunderC
Is one of us having an affairE
At first we laugh and then we wonderC
-
The iris was the first to dieF
enshrouded in its sickly sweetG
and lingering perfume The rosesH
fell one petal at a timeI
and now the ferns are turning dryF
The room smells like a funeralJ
but there they sit too much at homeK
accusing us of some small crimeI
like love forgotten and we can'tL
throw out a gift we've never ownedM
