Insomnia Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEF DGHIJK LMNBOB

Now you hear what the house has to sayA
Pipes clanking water running in the darkB
the mortgaged walls shifting in discomfortC
and voices mounting in an endless droneD
of small complaints like the sounds of a familyE
that year by year you've learned how to ignoreF
-
But now you must listen to the things you ownD
all that you've worked for these past yearsG
the murmur of property of things in disrepairH
the moving parts about to come undoneI
and twisting in the sheets remember allJ
the faces you could not bring yourself to loveK
-
How many voices have escaped you until nowL
the venting furnace the floorboards underfootM
the steady accusations of the clockN
numbering the minutes no one will markB
The terrible clarity this moment bringsO
the useless insight the unbroken darkB
