Emigre In Autumn Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIG HJKLMNOPQO

Walking down the garden pathA
From the house you do not ownB
Once again you think of howC
Cool the autumns were at homeD
Dressed as if you had just leftE
The courtyard of the summer palaceF
Walk the boundaries of the parkG
Count the steps you take each dayH
Miles that span no distancesI
Journeys in sunlight toward the darkG
-
Sit and watch the daylight playH
Idly on the tops of leavesJ
Glistening overhead in autumn'sK
Absolute dominionL
Nothing lost by you excelsM
These empires of sunlightN
But even here the subtle breezeO
Plots with underlying shadowsP
One gust of wind and suddenlyQ
The sun is falling from the treesO
