The carriage brushes through the brightB
Leaves violent jets from life to lightB
Strong polished speed is plunging heavesC
Between the showers of bright hot leavesC
The window glasses glaze our facesD
And jar them to the very basisE
But they could never put a polishF
Upon my manners or abolishF
My most distinct disinclinationG
For calling on a rich relationG
In her house bulwark built betweenH
The life man lives and visions seenH
The sunlight hiccups white as chalkI
Grown drunk with emptiness of talkJ
And silence hisses like a snakeK
Invertebrate and rattling acheK
Then suddenly EternityL
Drowns all the houses like a seaL
And down the street the Trump of DoomM
Blares madly shakes the drawing roomM
Where raw edged shadows sting forlornN
As dank dark nettles Down the hornN
Of her ear trumpet I conveyO
The news that 'It is Judgment Day '-
'Speak louder I don't catch my dear '-
I roared 'It is the Trump we hear '-
'The What ' 'THE TRUMP ' 'I shall complainP
the boy scouts practising again '-
