Busted Cowboy's Christmas Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFE FFFFGHIH JHFHKAFA HFLFMHNH DOPOQHFH

I am a busted cowboyA
And I work upon the rangeB
In summertime I get some workC
But one thing which seems strangeB
As soon as fall work's overD
I get it in the neckE
I get a Christmas presentF
Of a neatly written checkE
-
I come to town to rusticateF
I've no place else to stayF
When winter winds are howling hardF
Because I don't eat hayF
A puncher's life's a picnicG
It is one continual jokeH
But there's none more anxious to see springI
Than the cowboy who is brokeH
-
The wages that a cowhand earnsJ
In summer goes like smokeH
And when the snow begins to driftF
You bet your neck he's brokeH
You may talk about your holidaysK
Your Christmas cheer and joyA
They're all the same to me my friendF
Cash gone I'm a broke cowboyA
-
My saddle and my gun in soakH
My spurs I've long since soldF
My rawhide and my quirt are goneL
My chaps no They're too oldF
My outfit's gone I can't e'en bumM
A cigarette to smokeH
For no one cares what happensN
To a cowboy who is brokeH
-
Just where I'll eat my dinnerD
This Christmas I don't knowO
But you can bet your life I'll have oneP
If I get but half a showO
This Christmas holds no charms for meQ
On good things I'll not chokeH
Unless I get a big handoutF
I'm a cowboy who is brokeH
