Virgin Youth Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDECFCCEGGCHIJEKKC EL

Now and againA
All my body springs aliveB
And the life that is polarised in my eyesC
That quivers between my eyes and mouthD
Flies like a wild thing across my bodyE
Leaving my eyes half empty and clamorousC
Filling my still breasts with a flush and a flameF
Gathering the soft ripples below my breastsC
Into urgent passionate wavesC
And my soft slumbering bellyE
Quivering awake with one impulse of desireG
Gathers itself fiercely togetherG
And my docile fluent armsC
Knotting themselves with wild strengthH
To clasp what they have never claspedI
Then I tremble and go tremblingJ
Under the wild strange tyranny of my bodyE
Till it has spent itselfK
And the relentless nodality of my eyes reasserts itselfK
Till the bursten flood of life ebbs back to my eyesC
Back from my beautiful lonely bodyE
Tired and unsatisfiedL
