Excursion Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AAABCCB CCCDEED CCCDFFD GGGHCCI JJJKLLK MMMNHHN

I wonder can the night go byA
Can this shot arrow of travel flyA
Shaft golden with light sheer into the skyA
Of a dawned to morrowB
Without ever sleep delivering usC
From each other or loosing the dolorousC
Unfruitful sorrowB
-
What is it then that you can seeC
That at the window endlesslyC
You watch the red sparks whirl and fleeC
And the night look throughD
Your presence peering lonelily thereE
Oppresses me so I can hardly bearE
To share the train with youD
-
You hurt my heart beats' privacyC
I wish I could put you away from meC
I suffocate in this intimacyC
For all that I love youD
How I have longed for this night in the trainF
Yet now every fibre of me cries in painF
To God to remove youD
-
But surely my soul's best dream is stillG
That one night pouring down shall swillG
Us away in an utter sleep untilG
We are one smooth roundedH
Yet closely bitten in to meC
Is this armour of stiff reluctancyC
That keeps me impoundedI
-
So dear love when another nightJ
Pours on us lift your fingers whiteJ
And strip me naked touch me lightJ
Light light all overK
For I ache most earnestly for your touchL
Yet I cannot move however muchL
I would be your loverK
-
Night after night with a blemish of dayM
Unblown and unblossomed has withered awayM
Come another night come a new night sayM
Will you pluck me apartN
Will you open the amorous aching budH
Of my body and loose the burning floodH
That would leap to you from my heartN
